About Max Gooding
At the heart of Max’s approach is the ability to balance two often competing roles: the creative and the professional. One thrives on vision, intuition, and expressive design; the other brings structure, clarity, and purpose. Rather than favoring one over the other, Max brings both to the table—fusing creativity and discipline to deliver thoughtful, well-executed work.
This dual perspective informs every project he takes on. His goal isn’t just to make things look good—it’s to make them work, last, and feel rooted in place and meaning.
Max’s creative process began with pen and paper from an early age—tools to process the world and communicate memory, emotion, and atmosphere. From sun-soaked Florida scenes to dreamlike urban sketches, his artwork reflects both the familiar and the surreal, the grounded and the cosmic.
His visual work continues to influence his design sensibilities today—whether in the soft curves of a planting bed, the rhythm of materials, or the unexpected pop of color in a quiet corner. Every design is a continuation of that storytelling impulse: to turn blank spaces into something thoughtful, expressive, and alive.
Max’s design instincts are grounded in hands-on knowledge. After studying art and then graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida, he built a practice that combines strong visuals with practical know-how.
Raised in Florida, shaped by his travels, and influenced by both fine art and functional design, Max understands that lasting impact comes from balancing beauty with clarity—and vision with execution.
Today, as founder of The Max Gooding Company, he leads with both imagination and precision. His firm reflects that same duality: equal parts art and industry, concept and craft.
